Jaime Colás Rodríguez has a BA degree in History and completed the postgraduate course of Egyptology at the University of Alcalá in 2021. His research at postgraduate level focused on territorial aspects of the Amduat and the Book of Gates in terms of astronomical knowledge and how ancient Egyptians understood the cosmos.
Jaime has been a member of the archaeological project “Primitiva Complutum” in Madrid and has extended his archaeological and Egyptological training through several courses on archaeology, GIS and Egyptology at the University of Alcalá.
He also participated as a volunteer in the 2019 CRE (Current Research in Egyptology) held at the UAH (Alcalá de Henares, Spain). Likewise, he participated in several courses on Middle Egyptian as well as ancient Egyptian epigraphy, and has continued his research about the connections between astonomy and the ancient Egyptian conceptions of the netherworld.
In 2022, Jaime finished a Master degree in Education to orientate his formation to the domain of teaching and education and work as a teacher. In the same year, he received the UAH-MKTP fieldwork fellowship. In this Seventh Season, Jaime will be working as an archeologist in the areas of the courtyard and façade in the tomb of Dagi (TT 103).
